When I was growing up, I had been taught that the “norm” was to make sure all of your jewelry matched and along with that, subtlety was key. A drip of silver there and a drop of silver here was what I had grown to believe was acceptable. Whether this was just a sign of the times or my perception of the accessorized individuals around me I am here to say times have changed and I have become obsessed with stacking bracelets! Silver, gold, green, orange, chunky cuffs, thinly hammered bangles we love to stack them all! Jewelry daydreaming aside, let’s get down to the basics of how, what, and when to stack.
WHAT GOES WITH WHAT
If you are unsure of how to get started stacking here are a few things some of us here at temporal joy keep in mind: If there is a specific metal that you love to wear, start with that metal. I personally love silver, so that is always the foundation to my bracelet stack. Don’t be afraid to mix materials, but if you are still trying to figure out what you like take your time and try not to mix more than two to start. Don’t be afraid of color! If you are a bit intimidated by color and find it a challenge to mix it into your everyday attire, try adding maybe one pop of color in your bracelet stack. You may find that as you figure out what you like more and more, the more color will want to add.
GUIDELINES
When you’re finally ready to flaunt your newly styled wrists, this may be the perfect opportunity to give you other jewelry a breather. When I wear multiple bracelets, I like to tone down the other jewelry I am wearing and really let my stacks be the star of the show. Although once again it’s all about whatever makes you feel like you! If you love putting on all the jewelry, then put it on!
